Welcome letter

A chairde

Tá athas orainn an epost seo a sheoladh chugaibh maidir le tionscnamh nua, bríomhar a bheidh tionchar dearfach aige ar an gCumann sna bliain atá romhainn.

At the turn of the millennium the GAA launched its website at a time when we were still getting to grips with the very obvious advantages of communicating using email.

The current project we are on embarking on almost a decade later should consolidate the efforts of the association to fully embrace everything modern technology has to offer in the vital area of communication.

As part of the GAA National Strategic Vision and Action Plan 2009-2015, improving our communication with both internal and external audiences was identified as a key priority.

In light of this goal, the Association announced a partnership with Google on December 17 that will overhaul the way we operate in this crucial area.

Baker Security and Networks will support this project and we are urging all of our members and units to approach the roll-out in a positive frame of mind in the knowledge that it has the potential to make your work easier and more effective.

In addition to a totally re-vamped website, which will be fully interactive through a host of multi-media functions, members will also be able to utilise the new email system’s calendar, share documents and avail of a new intranet. Security and privacy will also be stand out features of the new system.

The best expertise has been engaged with for this project and in the coming months we are confident that the tangible benefits of the overhaul will be plain to see.
